As we approach the holidays, many businesses are planning on celebrating with parties and get-togethers for staff and clients. If your business will be serving alcohol at an event, be sure your insurance coverage will protect you in case of an alcohol-related incident.
Most Commercial General Liability Policies contain Host Liquor Liability coverage for third party property damage and/or bodily injury arising from an alcohol-related incident. This coverage is in place as long as there is no charge for alcoholic beverages to those attending the event.
If your business is hosting a holiday party, be sure to check with your insurance agent to determine if your business has the proper coverage in place.
It is also a good idea to limit alcohol consumption to protect yourself, your employees and your clients. Consider transportation alternatives to prevent intoxicated guests from driving and offer plenty of non-alcoholic beverage options.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!
