With the holidays approaching, people are buzzing, beeping and singing about the new technology gifts out this year.

These days, most companies run on technology, using it to store and process client data, run online advertising campaigns, and buy or sell products and services.

Suppose your organization collects private information from clients (drivers license numbers, birthdates, medical data, banking information, etc). If your organization suffers a data breach and this information is leaked or used without authorization, the reputation, financial standing, and general livelihood of your clients could be damaged. In addition, many states require that businesses, upon discovering a data breach, follow certain steps, which could result in a significant financial loss.

If your company's equipment or technology is damaged by viruses or hackers, customers may not receive the products or services they require, also resulting in a financial loss.

A cyber liability policy can help protect your business in case of a data breach. To learn more about cyber liability insurance and other ways to protect your business, contact our office.
