I'm sure you have heard the expression "You cannot know how someone feels until you walk a mile in their shoes."

During this holiday season or, actually, any time of the year, perform a civic duty by helping out at a local soup kitchen or food bank. Not only will you be helping those organizations, but hopefully you will come away with a feeling and knowledge of how fortunate you are in relation to the individuals who are forced to be patrons of soup kitchens or food banks.

Remembering the needy should be done all year long, but especially during the holidays.
