In 1981, Mike began his insurance career in Chicago working in the casualty department for USF&G Insurance Company. USF&G was well known at the time for insuring large and difficult contractors. While at USF&G, Mike’s underwriting book of business consisted of general contractors, excavation contractors and fire-sprinkler contractors. From 1983 to 1985 he worked at Lloyd’s of London as a reinsurance broker in the professional liability department. Each day, malpractice coverage for architects, engineers, medical professionals, accountants and lawyers was negotiated.
Mike is licensed in both property and casualty, as well as life and health. He maintains the designations of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM).
